7 Things to Include in a Funeral Pamphlet (Checklist Guide)

A funeral pamphlet is more than a schedule — it’s a printed tribute.
Whether you're planning a memorial service or celebration of life, this checklist will help you create a thoughtful, meaningful program your loved ones will treasure.

1. Full Name, Birth & Death Dates

Start with the basics. Include the person’s full name, and their birth and death dates. You can also add a short line like “In Loving Memory” or “Forever in Our Hearts.”

2. Cover Photo

Choose a high-quality, smiling photo of your loved one. Center it on the cover and keep it simple — this image sets the emotional tone.

3. Order of Service

Outline the ceremony step by step. Common elements:

  • Opening music

  • Welcome message

  • Prayers or scripture

  • Eulogy

  • Special tributes

  • Closing

4. Obituary or Life Story

Write a brief overview of your loved one’s life. Share important milestones, passions, and what made them unique.

5. Family & Acknowledgments

List close family members and thank anyone who helped organize the service — clergy, friends, caregivers, etc.

6. Quotes, Poems, or Bible Verses

A few words can provide comfort. Choose a favorite verse, line from a poem, or meaningful quote.

7. Closing Photo or Back Cover

Use a different photo — often one from earlier in life — with a soft farewell message such as:

“Until we meet again…”
“Forever loved, never forgotten.”
